Who we are

Rainbow Social is a not-for-profit organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). We run community events for the LGBTQIA+ community across Victoria and New South Wales. You can contact us at admin@rainbowsocial.org.

What we collect

We may collect: your name, email address, phone number, and details you provide when booking events, making donations, subscribing to updates, or contacting us. When you attend events we may collect dietary, accessibility, or emergency contact information you choose to share. We do not require you to disclose your gender identity or sexual orientation, and any such information you share is provided voluntarily and treated as sensitive information under the APPs.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you through our website, event bookings, email, and in person. Some information is collected through third-party services we use (see below).

Third-party services

We use trusted third parties to operate our website and events. These providers handle your data under their own privacy policies:

Wix — hosts our website and may collect analytics and cookie data.
TryBooking — processes event registrations and ticketing.
Stripe — processes donations and payments. We do not store your full card details; these are handled securely by Stripe.

How we use your information

We use your information to process bookings and payments, manage event attendance, respond to enquiries, send updates you've subscribed to, meet legal and reporting obligations, and improve our services. We do not sell your personal information.

Marketing communications

If you subscribe, we may send you news about events and activities. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us.

Disclosure

We only disclose personal information where necessary to the service providers listed above, where required by law, or with your consent. Some providers (e.g. Stripe) may store data overseas; by using our services you consent to this disclosure.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. No online transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
