Who we are & what we do

Mission

Rainbow Social fosters inclusion and connection within the LGBTQIA+ community through diverse, accessible events across Melbourne and Sydney. From picnics and wine tours to trivia nights and paint classes, we offer both free and ticketed options to ensure everyone can participate. We partner with queer venues and prioritize accessibility at all events to build a welcoming, vibrant community for all.

Steven Jackson

Steven founded Rainbow Social in November 2021. After losing his dear friend Simon in 2016, Steven channeled Simon's love for bringing people together into something special. Standing at the entrance in his cheerful rainbow outfits, Steven personally welcomes each guest, helping everyone feel right at home from the moment they arrive.  Thanks to his warm spirit and belief in the power of courage, commitment, and consistency, Rainbow Social has blossomed into a vibrant community of friends. What started as a dream in Melbourne is now growing, with Steven's hopes of spreading these beautiful connections all across Australia by 2030!

Craig Milligan (CPA GAICD)

Craig discovered Rainbow Social through a friend's recommendation when he was seeking to meet new people after coming out. He quickly formed a strong connection within the group, leading to lasting friendships and travel experiences. Inspired by the positive impact on his life, Craig joined the board to give back to the community along with this role as a director of Interchange Gippsland. A father of two adult sons, Craig balances his commitment to Rainbow Social with regular catch ups with his children, alongside his professional responsibilities.
